I recently bought a used 2022 F-150 Lightning Lariat (230-mile range) and had an electrician install a ChargePoint Home Flex Level 2 charger on an existing 50-amp circuit. Even though it should be capable of charging at 9.6 kW, my truck is only pulling 1.1 kW, which is painfully slow.
I called Ford support, and they told me the truck can’t communicate with ChargePoint to recognize the higher charging capacity. I researched this charger extensively before choosing it, and I never came across this issue. Now, I’m stuck with a hardwired Level 2 charger that isn’t working as expected.
Has anyone else run into this issue? Is there a workaround to get the truck to charge at full speed? Would a different charger be the only solution? Really hoping there’s a fix, because I don’t want to be stuck with Level 1 charging speeds on a Level 2 setup.
