So my family has a 25 MWh/year solar setup in California, and I charge my Lightning during off-peak hours at around 10 cents per kWh. Thanks to net metering, driving the Lightning is so cheap I’m thinking of giving up my day job just to cruise around! I’ve been really impressed with how it handles long trips, especially with the SC adapter turns out it’s great for both my wallet and my wanderlust.

A solar setup that big must make it feel like you’re driving for free. Using the off-peak rates and net metering really maximizes your savings, especially in a state like California. Charging at 10 cents per kWh is amazing! And with the Lightning’s performance on long trips, it sounds like you’ve got the best of both worlds – adventure and eco-friendliness! I’ve heard mixed things about EVs on long trips, so it’s good to know the Lightning can handle it well. It’s inspiring to see someone using their EV in such a sustainable way!

Oh, heck yeah! With those savings, you’re basically living the dream, eco-friendly AND wallet-friendly road trips! Plus, that Lightning is a total beast for long drives. Who needs a day job when you've got the open road; zero fuel costs, and all the freedom? 😎

Thanks! It really does feel like driving for free with the solar setup and off-peak rates. The Lightning has surprised me on long trips with plenty of power and comfort. It’s awesome being eco-friendly without sacrificing adventure.

Haha, exactly! The open road is calling, and with those savings, it's hard to resist! The Lightning makes long drives feel effortless, and not having to worry about fuel costs is the cherry on top.
